Looking at these dresses, Versace doesn't come to mind because of the subtlety of design. I miss Gianni Versace a lot! I say that not to dismiss Donatella's efforts and contribution in continuing her brother's legacy. She is doing a fabulous job. I love the sexy, elegant and very feminine silohuette of these dresses. Specially the Shell Print Sheath Dress, if you look closely on the strategically placed cuts and sewn to have the entire print on the dress is genius! The details and quality of workmanship is undeniable on this flag inspired t-shirt by Alexandre Herchcovitch. But it doesn't matter if this garment is spun in gold threads. Harajuku Lovers Fragrance and Sean John's 'I Am King' were honored as this year's Women's and Men's Luxe Fragrance of the Year respectively, in New York for the 37th annual Fragrance Foundation FiFi Awards. Footwear is one spectrum in the fashion world that has become very competitive through the years. And when I thought that I saw it all, a new season comes along and designers roll out this fabulous, chic, fresh new designs. This fall, luxury designers shows no restraints with their creations with hopes that their shoes will be must-haves shoe for the season.

Karl Lagerfeld emerges as one of my designers to watch this fall. His footwear and accessory collection is one that I haven't seen from him in a long time. He designed a bootie that has a small axe as the spur (shown above)! Nicholas Kirkwood made his signature design edgier with modern architectural cutouts. While Bruno Frisoni created a sandal with bright pink silk fan on the straps.

Guys have it easy every season specially for summer. We don't have to worry as much as the ladies when it comes to the latest trends in fashion. I have been a Dolce&Gabbana lover since high school but I'm not loving these covered platform wedges from their Fall 2009 Collection. Stefano Gabbana and Domineco Dolce's creativity and talent is undeniably one of fashion's best. I guess during the creative process in designing these shoes, they were not up to par. There are surely a lot of gimmicky accessories flooding the market today. I myself fell prey for these quick-fix, make-everything-easier products that never live up to what they are ought to be. Let us get to know more about the fabulous, creative mind behind IdealHeel, Michelle Patterson!

What inspired you to create such a fabulous and 'smart' shoe accessory?

Before IdealHeel, it seemed that every time I wore a pair of heels, I would return home, take them off and notice gouges, scuffs and tears on the heel. This drove me nuts, not to mention the cost of repairing the damage was financially exhausting.

The lightning bolt of inspiration occurred when I damaged a brand new pair beyond repair after a run-in with a cobblestone street. I remember the moment exactly, I was walking across a cobblestone road and felt my heel rip as it wedged between the stones. I walked right out of the shoe right then and there. I decided that it was time to do something about it.

What was the biggest obstacle to your success thus far? How did you overcome it?

Our biggest obstacle still exists, and we are working on overcoming it every day. IdealHeel is a new product and a new concept that requires a cultural change among women. Women wear high heels and expect them to be damaged by harmful walking surfaces. To convince women that this costly damage can be prevented is much like convincing your great aunt Sally to recycle.

Statistically, it is a challenge and though damage can be prevented, it is still difficult to convince women to take high heel precautions and wear IdealHeel every time they commute over cobblestone, street grates, grass, wood decks and cracked sidewalks. However, we strongly believe that once women experience IdealHeel and all of its preventative powers, the trend will catch on and women all over will have improved their high heel wearing experience and saved a ton in shoe repairs!

Is there a shoe designer that you truly admire? A person or persons that are not necessarily your inspiration or influence, but whose creations touch or speak to your core?

There are two shoe designers that I absolutely love-both for very different reasons. I love Giuseppe Zanotti. I yearn for his new line every season. In fact, I cut out pictures of his designs in my magazines, hang them on my wall like a school girl and dream about them at night.

The other shoe designer that I love is Cole Haan (via Gordon Thompson's creative direction).Cole Haan shoes are classic in my opinion. They are quality shoes made at affordable prices, plus the introduction of Dress Air (the collaboration with Nike) was absolutely brilliant! I wear these at events like market and trade shows when I am on my feet all day showing off IdealHeel. Cole Haan is known for making comfortable boots for women with Nike Air technology

What were you doing before 'practicing safe steps'?

Before IdealHeel, I was ruining every nice pair of heels I owned while working as the director of marketing and entertainment for a creative firm that specialized in producing entertainment for the stage and television.

Three words that best describe IdealHeel?

Smart, Protective and Discreet.

Where do you see IdealHeel in a year from now?

On the set of the second Sex and the City movie and on the heels of every woman who wears high heel shoes.

Last Thursday's episode of Grey's Anatomy was a tear jerker. Izzy's was an epitome of a modern bride. She was sexy yet elegant. It was perfect! Today, brides opt for those type of bridal gowns. Gone are the days when brides are drowning in tulle and organza. When I styled one of my friends wedding party last summer, I picked a Grecian inspired dress, simple up-do and vintage jewelry. She looked like a goddess on the beach where the wedding was held.

I always get asked the question, how much should the bride spend on her bridal gown. I say, if you have the budget go for the one that gives you butterflies. If not, there are a lot of reasonably priced pieces out there. Or if you've seen one that you totally fell in love with at first sight but its out of your budget, go take a photo to your seamstress and have it replicated. Pick a bridal gown that you would cherish and perhaps pass to your daughter when it is her time to say 'I do'.

I love edgy, fashion-forward designs. But no matter how you cut it, ugly is ugly. Like this frame pants by Henry Vibskov. The graphic design is not all that bad. The fit of the pant is what ruined it for me. Unflattering and sloppy. With a price tag of $241.00 which I think it's unreasonably high. This pants are a literal representation of the word 'fashion'. So, it's just another garment. Maybe next time Henry Vibskov decides to literally create fashion, try this definition for inspiration... the latest and most admired style in clothes and cosmetics and behavior. And 'fashion' might just happen.

Have a few thousand dollars to spare this week? Well, let me help you spend those Benjamins fabulously. Let's start witha pair of $1,350.00 boots. The first time I saw YSL 's Cage Boot, I wasn't really liking them. I asked myself, 'Is it not the purpose of wearing shoes is for protection?'. My sentiments on these fabulous stomps changed gradually for the better. And now, I'm going gaga over them. I guess they are like alcohol, an acquired taste. They are for sure total vanity.
